What’s Changing
Summary:

Starting Jan. 1, 2026, Nebraska’s individual income tax rate will decrease from 5.2% to 4.55%. The final step is scheduled for Jan. 1, 2027, with the rate expected to drop again to 3.99%.

These changes are part of Nebraska’s multi-year rate reduction plan under Legislative Bill 754 (2023). As you work with clients, review withholding and estimated tax payments to align with the new rates.
